Debian complete 17 years

Ubuntu 10.10 will feature multi-touch

New for fans of Ubuntu: from version 10.10, system will support multi-touch, allowing developers to create interfaces with support for ringtones and screen movements and presenting a whole new method of navigation for users.

Right at launch of distro, many applications will already have GTK support enabling touch, among other things, lateral or horizontal scroll directly on screen of equipment.

New Installer for Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat With Pictures

The live daily Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat Alpha 3 is now available new version of installer to see when final version becomes available on 10 October.
The new and renovated installer offer users ability to download software updates and/or installation of proprietary drivers for wireless cards, support for MP3 files, Adobe Flash Player, Java and support for DVD playback.
